Happy Birthday, Felix Mendelssohn!
Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy was born in Hamburg, Germany on February 3, 1809. One of our favorite compositions by Mendelssohn is his Song Without Words, Op. 109 for cello and piano. Watch this captivating performance of the piece by phenomenal cellist Jacqueline Du Pré, accompanied by her mother, Iris Du Pré.
On January 12, 1993, Etta James was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You MUST watch this amazing video of Etta performing “Something’s Got a Hold On Me” in 1962! The performance highlights her incredibly powerful and unique voice.

Watch this classic video of The Beatles’ first performance of “All You Need is Love”. The performance took place on June 25, 1967 on the BBC’s “Our World” special. “Our World” was the first live, international, satellite television production! For the historic occasion, Lennon and McCartney wrote “All You Need is Love”, aiming to create a simple song that could be understood by all nationalities.
